This page covers what happens to the numbers you type into a pace, calorie or heart-rate calculator on ExerciseCalc, and the ordinary web traffic that comes with visiting any of these pages.
Every tool here, the pace, calorie, heart-rate zone, VO2 max, treadmill, marathon pace and steps calculators, runs entirely in JavaScript inside your own browser tab. When you enter a distance, a finish time, a body weight, an age or a resting heart rate, that figure is used once, on your device, to produce the result you see on screen. There is no server-side calculation step and no account or save feature built into these tools, so a weight, a split time or a training number you enter is never transmitted to us and never lands in a database we control. Close the tab or reload the page and the inputs are gone.
Some fitness apps keep a running log of your weight, pace and workouts tied to an account. This site is not that. There is no login, no saved-scenario feature, and no place your entries persist between visits. If you want to keep a record of a pace chart or a calorie estimate, you would need to write it down or take a screenshot yourself, because we genuinely do not have anywhere to store it even if we wanted to.
Standard web server and analytics data: which pages were viewed, an approximate location inferred from IP address, browser and device type, and the site that referred you here. This is the same category of traffic data most websites log, and it is separate from anything you type into a calculator field. We use it to see which tools and guides get read and to catch pages that are slow or broken.
We run Google Analytics and Google AdSense, and both set cookies. Analytics cookies show us aggregate patterns, such as how many people used the heart-rate zone calculator this month, without identifying you individually. AdSense cookies may be used by Google to serve ads based on browsing activity across sites you visit; you can adjust ad personalization in your Google account or reject cookies through the banner on this site. Rejecting cookies does not change how any calculator works, since none of them depend on a cookie to produce a result.
The contact form is handled by a third-party processor, Web3Forms. A name, email address and message you submit there are used only to reply to you; we do not add contact-form senders to a mailing list or pass that information to anyone else.

This site is built for adults and older teens planning their own training. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If we add a new analytics tool, ad network or form processor, we will update this page and the date at the top. We do not send an email notice for policy changes because the contact form is the only place we ever collect an email address.
